MINI-PUPILLAGE

Mini-Pupillage at Foundry Chambers

We offer one week mini-pupillages between 1 June and 31 August each year. We welcome applications from those who are within at least two years of commencing the BPTC and intend to practice criminal law at the Bar.

Our application window opens on 1 October and closes on 31 October of the year preceding that to which the applicant wishes to apply.

Applications will be considered and responded to as soon as possible after 31 October.

Although Chambers does not pay mini-pupils’ expenses, we will not expect you to travel to see cases being heard in courts outside the London area. This does not preclude mini-pupils from travelling further afield should they wish to see matters of particular interest.

Applications will be judged on merit alone.

How to apply

Applications should consist of a:

  1. CV; and
  2. Covering letter explaining in no more than 200 words the applicant’s interest in a career at the Criminal Bar.

All applications should be marked for the attention of Gabriella Lewis and Matthew Ralston.

Applications should be sent by email to .

Please note that any other correspondence relating to mini-pupillages should also be sent to the above-mentioned email address.

Confidentiality

Each mini-pupil is asked to sign an undertaking to maintain confidentiality in respect of all the sensitive and confidential information he or she may hear or read about during the mini-pupillage.
