Richard Jory QC opened the case against Paul Campbell, accused of murdering 59 year old Stephen Berry in July 2015. Mr Berry was found dead on the floor of his kitchen in Chatham in Kent having suffered a violent assault resulting in fatal injuries. The finger and palm print of the defendant were discovered on the oven door immediately next to the deceased’s head. The trial is expected to last 3-4 weeks.
