Szilvia Booker Represents Defendant Acquitted of the Robbery of a Jewellery Courier

Szilvia Booker, instructed by Olivia Rose at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, represented a 26-year-old Hungarian defendant acquitted of the robbery of a jewellery courier, who was travelling on the tube en-route from Hatton Garden carrying opals he had collected for a jewellery shop in the Mile End Road. The jury took just 26 minutes to accept the defence advanced in the case asserting the genuine, albeit mistaken belief of rightful recovery of property. They found that the defendant lacked the dishonest intent alleged by the prosecution in taking a backpack from the complainant that he mistakenly believed was one stolen from him a year earlier.
