Richard Jory KC and Patrick Dennis prosecute father and son sentenced for killing of 4 year old boy
Richard Jory KC and Patrick Dennis prosecuted a father and son involved in a road rage incident leading to the death of a four year old child. Owen Maughan admitted the manslaughter of Peter Maughan after ramming the vehicle in which he was travelling on 1 June 2025. He was sentenced to 12 years and eight months. His father Patrick Maughan was the front seat passenger and was sentenced to 18 years after being convicted of manslaughter. Both men had drunk excessively prior to the incident. They were also given concurrent sentences for causing GBH to the boy’s father, who has suffered permanent disability as a result of the incident.
