Patrick Dennis and Matthew Ralston prosecute fatal attack on Elizabeth Line worker

Patrick Dennis and Matthew Ralston prosecuted Ayodele Jamgbadi for fatally punching Elizabeth Line worker Jorge Ortega at Ilford Station. The defendant missed his train and started kicking an advertising frame on the platform. Mr Ortega and two colleagues stepped out of their office to try to calm the defendant. The defendant then punched Mr Ortega causing him to fall and strike his head on the platform resulting in fatal brain injuries. The defendant was found unfit to plead. A jury unanimously found the defendant had carried out the act. The defendant was made subject to a hospital order with restrictions pursuant to sections 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act 1983. 

 

Patrick and Matthew were instructed by Carla Harris from the CPS.
