Chris Harper acts for defendant acquitted in robbery trial
Chris Harper, instructed by SJ Law, acted for a young man of good character accused of a series of offences against another man in East London.
The defendant was said to have pretended to be a police officer to facilitate a first robbery, and to have followed that up some weeks later in a further attempt to rob. During the second incident, the defendant was involved in a physical confrontation with the complainant and another member of the complainant’s family.
Chris cross-examined the witnesses in detail and presented mapping evidence to advance the defendant’s case that he was not present at the first incident and acted in reasonable self-defence in the latter.
The jury unanimously acquitted the defendant of all counts on the indictment.
