David Smith has just successfully prosecuted three members of a group of individuals operating a 'drugs line' in the North London area between October 2018 and May 2019 in a police operation conducted by the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime, Proactive Team based at Wood Green. All three men were convicted of conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin on a commercial scale to hundreds of class A drug users. Sentences ranged from 9 1/2 years' imprisonment to 4 years' imprisonment for the youngest defendant. At the conclusion of the trial, the judge commented on the skilful way in which over 30,000 pages of evidence had been effectively and efficiently presented to the jury by prosecution counsel."
