€34m Account Forfeiture Order made
Michael Newbold and Natalie McNamee (led by Jonathan Hall QC of 6KBW College Hill) were instructed by CPS Proceeds of Crime in applications for the making of two account forfeiture orders at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
The case, the first in which the DPP has been instructed on behalf of City of London Police to pursue account forfeiture orders under Part 5 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, concluded on 22 October 2021 with the making of forfeiture orders in the sums of €34,029,902.57 and £36,097.98 respectively.
Michael specialises in cases involving the proceeds of crime and asset forfeiture. He is regularly instructed by applicants and respondents in proceedings for account freezing and forfeiture orders.
Natalie specialises in fraud and financial crime with particular expertise in prosecuting and defending in cases with complex disclosure issues.
