Gabriella Lewis Appears at Court of Appeal in Successful Application
Gabriella Lewis appealed, with leave, against a sentence of 6 years’ imprisonment for an offence of dwelling burglary, in a case where the minimum sentence provisions applied.
The Court of Appeal substituted the sentence for one of 4 years’ imprisonment.

It was argued that, although MT was a prolific burglar, the Sentencing Judge, was wrong to have increased the sentence so far beyond the minimum, solely on account of MT’s previous convictions, thus the sentence was manifestly excessive
