Lawrence Henderson was instructed by Nicole Lodge and Seamus Austin of Tuckers Solicitors to represent defendant C, a 72 year old man, who was charged along with 5 others in a matter which prosecution counsel told the jury in opening the case was the biggest investigation of its sort ever conducted by the National Crime Agency. The allegation was that the defendants conspired to secure possession of UK passports, obtained by fraud, and sell them on to those wanted or under suspicion for crimes of the most serious nature. The allegation was that the conspiracy was in operation for at least 5 years. As part of the investigation the National Crime Agency sought and were granted permission to place a covert listening device in a co-conspirators home, which was in place for 30 months and yielded 170 hours of material to be used in court. Covert surveillance was deployed. Defendant C was acquitted of the charges he faced.

The case required the utmost diligence and judgement on the part of Lawrence, Nicole and Seamus to achieve the acquittal of the defendant.
