Patrick Dennis, instructed by CPS South East, prosecuted Anthony Deeprose who was convicted of two counts of attempted murder at Maidstone Crown Court.

A group of soldiers had attended a 1980s fancy dress party for charity. Outside the Society Rooms, Wetherspoons, Maidstone the defendant punched one of the soldiers who was dressed as Axl Rose. The defendant then got in a motor vehicle and deliberately drove it at a group of soldiers, hitting Ben Walsh who was dressed as Freddie Mercury and George Wilkie who was dressed as Super Mario. The defendant then turned the vehicle round and deliberately drove over Ben Walsh's head. The vehicle also struck George Wilkie again. Ben Walsh sustained life changing injuries.

The defendant will be sentenced in October.
