Richard Jory QC and Jessica Tate instructed by Linda Barker of Duncan Lewis Solicitors, secured an acquittal for a 19-year-old charged with murder and attempted murder as part of a gang-related feud concerning drug dealing ‘territories.’  The victim in question was shot with a firearm discharged from the back of a moped with a second intended victim surviving the incident with gunshot wounds.

Three men had previously been found guilty of murder and attempted murder.

The issues in the trial included the knowledge required by secondary participants to be guilty of the offence and the correct application of joint enterprise principles under R v Jogee [2016] UKSC 8 [87]
