Siobhan Grey KC and Matthew Ralston act for convicted killer and sex offender Simon Levy in separate trials resulting in a life sentence with a whole life term being imposed.
Siobhan Grey KC from Foundry Chambers led for the defence in the case of Simon Levy at the Central Criminal Court in a trial lasting 6 weeks.
Simon Levy was charged with two murders against sex workers as well as vaginal and anal rape, intentional suffocation and GBH with intent against a third woman. Expert issues of Pathology and unascertained deaths, toxicology and drug-related deaths, as well as DNA evidence were at the centre of the case. The Prosecution asserted that the offending against three women spanned a period of eight months in 2025. Other legal issues included severance, cross-admissibility and identification.
Simon Levy was convicted and given a whole life order on 12th August 2026.
These convictions followed proceedings at Inner London Crown Court in January of this year in which Matthew Ralston acted for Simon Levy in the London Underground Tube assaults against 11 different women.
The offences involved 10 different women who boarded London Underground and Overground trains between October 2023 and May 2025, together with a separate assault on a female prison officer at HMP Brixton in April 2022.
The prosecution case was that this was a persistent and carefully orchestrated campaign of targeted assaults on women, using a jacket tied around his waist to conceal his actions.
At the heart of the case were issues including Levy’s previous sexual convictions, cross-admissibility, and the evidential status of footage purporting to show a further sexual assault involving an unidentified woman.
Siobhan Grey KC, leading Shannon Revel from Furnival Chambers, was instructed by Jason Lartey of Lartey and Co. Solicitors, while Matthew was instructed by Jessica Davis of Hodge, Jones and Allen in the sexual assault proceedings.
Both cases attracted extensive national media coverage and front-page reporting.
