Szilvia Booker has been instructed to represent Beatrice EKWEREMADU, the wife of Ike EKWEREMADU, the former Deputy Senate President of the Nigerian Senate, who is accused of conspiring with her husband to arrange or facilitate the travel of a 15 year old child into the UK for the purpose of organ harvesting. This is an unusual case involving two high-profile international defendants and cross-jurisdictional issues including the prosecution of offences requiring the Attorney-General’s consent by virtue of the fact that part of the offending is alleged to have taken place outside England and Wales. The case has been adjourned until 07/07/2022 when a further hearing will take place to determine such procedural issues.
