Toby Pleming and Kwame Sekyere act for defendants acquitted of possession with intent to supply Amphetamine
Toby Pleming and Kwame Sekyere represented MC and AJ, respectively, who were charged with possession with intent to supply amphetamine in February 2019. The trial took place at St Albans Crown Court before Mr Recorder Tim Clark KC and a jury of 10. The Prosecution alleged that MC and AJ were transporting 360g of amphetamine as couriers. During the proceedings, Toby and Kwame were able to establish that the amphetamine was to be used as part of a mixture of substances to be administered to a horse, to improve its performance in pony and trap races. The jury unanimously acquitted MC and AJ of possession with intent to supply. They pleaded guilty to simple possession and received conditional discharges.
