Tom Hoskins successfully defends nurse accused of drug errors and dishonesty
Tom Hoskins appeared for “Mr O”, a nurse who faced proceedings brought by his regulator, the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Mr A was accused of failing to administer controlled drugs correctly and thereafter allegedly sought to cover up his actions by intimidating a nursing colleague and falsifying records. He had previously had allegations found proved against him by his regulator.
Tom successfully argued that the limited charges that the Fitness to Practise Committee found proved were not sufficiently serious to be misconduct or impairment. The Committee agreed, finding no misconduct. Mr O’s registration remained unblemished and he was free to practice unrestricted.
Tom was instructed by Laura Steele of the Royal College of Nursing.
