William Hughes KC and Gabriella Lewis represented the main defendant in ‘friendly fire’ Sub-Machine Gun killing, R v CC – Isleworth Crown Court (September - November 2022; February 2023)

William and Gabriella’s client, CC, was charged with Manslaughter, Possession of Firearms with intent to endanger life and Perverting the course of public justice. The Prosecution alleged that the defendants were to embark on a ‘ride out’ or ‘drive by’ shooting with a sub machine gun in their possession. However, because of a defect with the weapon, the sub-machine gun accidentally discharged killing the deceased, whom the Prosecution asserted was a party to the criminal plan.
