William Hughes QC, leading Graham Russell of Citadel Chambers, Birmingham and Timothy Ashmole of St John's Chambers Manchester, prosecuted Yacub Younis for his involvement in the well publicised shooting of a Stoke man outside his home in 2010. After a protracted three-week hearing, Mr Justice Goose found Younis to be a 'lead protagonist' in the Organised Criminal agreement, which involved number of others who are currently serving prison sentences for their involvement in the shooting.  Mr Justice Goose sentenced Younis to an extended prison sentence of 16 1/2 years on 24th January 2018.
