The UNODC invited Jessica Tate to speak at a regional meeting convened by the United Nation’s Office on Drugs and Crime and the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia. The meeting’s focus was “Strengthening Cooperation to Successfully Investigate and Prosecute Crimes that affect the Environment in Southeast Asia.” The meeting was designed to facilitate discussion between prosecutors and investigators in Southeast Asia countries, share their knowledge and best practices, and to identify actions for enhanced cooperation in connection with transnational organized crimes that affect the environment. There were representatives present from nine countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.

Jessica gave a talk and answered questions on the criteria and procedures for obtaining Mutual Legal Assistance from the United Kingdom, particularly in relation to both criminal and civil asset forfeiture and confiscation.
