Richard Jory KC and Bibi Ihuomah represent alleged Edgware murderer
Richard Jory KC and Bibi Ihuomah are representing Jala Debella at a trial of the facts at the Central Criminal Court on an Indictment alleging murder and possession of an offensive weapon. The case concerns the unprovoked attack on Anita Mukhey in Colindale, north London, on 9 May 2024. The allegation is that Mr Debella, 24, ordered a hunting knife online, then shortly after went to a bus stop on the Edgware Road where he stabbed Anita Mukhey repeatedly in the chest and neck. Mrs Mukhey, who was 66 years old, died at the scene.
At a previous hearing the trial judge His Honour Judge Katz KC heard expert evidence leading to his ruling that Mr Debella was unfit to plead and stand trial. In these circumstances a jury has been empanelled and asked to follow a special procedure, and to determine only whether the defendant did the acts alleged.
Richard and Bibi are instructed by Linda Barker of Duncan Lewis Solicitors.
