Patrick Dennis and Jessica Tate prosecute double stabbing murder

Patrick Dennis and Jessica Tate prosecuted two youth defendants for the murder of Omar Khan and the wounding with intent of Cheyenne Barnes. The defendants were drug dealing in Luton working as a team. The victims were drug users who had arranged to meet the defendants to buy drugs. The victims attempted to rob the defendants. The prosecution case was that the first defendant stabbed both victims twice in revenge. The prosecution case against the second defendant was that he intentionally encouraged the first defendant. The case involved complex issues of joint participation and bad character, with the first defendant having bought 63 knives online in the months leading up to the incident.

Both defendants were unanimously convicted of murder and wounding with intent. They will be sentenced in May.

Patrick and Jessica were instructed by Jan Muller of Thames Valley CPS.
